The 10th anniversary of Mahindra Blues Festival had a special tune to it. Through ‘Blues in Schools’, an initiative by Oranjuice Entertainment and Project Nanhi Kali, our Nanhi Kalis were given a rare opportunity to explore their musical side. The Mahindra Blues team taught the girls the basics of music and gave them lessons on playing the harmonica. This musical journey took a more exciting turn for the girls when 11 of them were given the platform of performing at the Blues Festival itself! 11 Nanhi Kalis took to the stage for the first time and their performance was met with a thunderous applause and cheers from a huge crowd.
This fantastic opportunity bolstered their self-confidence and made them aware of their own hidden creative streak. We at Project Nanhi Kali are heartened by Mahindra Blues and Oranjuice Entertainment’s thoughtful, special gesture to give our girls their own happy tune and even see musical dreams for themselves.
